Ms. Gilmour is an HR professional with diverse experience in recruiting, career services, education, and workforce development. She has passion and accomplishments bridging relationships between education and industry to develop skilled workforces and talent pipelines. Donna has worked in HR in staffing and university recruiting roles at Adobe, Yahoo, Symantec, BEA Systems and Atmel, spanning software and semiconductor industries. Donna has managed strategic internship and recruiting programs while successfully engaging employers and students to participate. Most recently, she coordinated paid internships for students while serving as an Education & Workforce Development Manager for the Silicon Valley Organization (SVO), Silicon Valley’s largest Chamber of Commerce.


In academia, she has worked in K-12, community colleges, and universities bringing opportunities to students to help them succeed. She has experience working in the California State University (CSU) system, having held roles in job development, career advising, employer relations, and management. Additionally, she recruited from many private, public, and Jesuit universities including Stanford, Santa Clara University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, University of Southern California (USC), and many east coast business schools, such as Harvard Business School, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ms. Gilmour is a first-generation college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from San Francisco State University. She pursued graduate coursework in sociology focusing on diversity, racism, and socio-economic impact. She obtained a Certificate in HR Administration from San Jose State University with a specialization in staffing and university recruiting. She also possesses a Career Technical Education (CTE) credential in education, child development, and family services and is knowledgeable about career pathways for K-14. She has an expansive breadth of experience bridging partnerships between education and industry.
